‘Homebound’ Dev Log - v0.1 RELEASED!

New Features & Updates!

v0.1 OUT NOW! 🎉- The first standalone release of ‘Homebound’ is available for download on my itch.io page! (please be advised this project is still very early in development and is subject to many changes and improvements in the future.)

SANDBOX & SURVIVAL MODES - Added the option for Sandbox or Survival mode! Survival is the horror experience that I’m working for in this project, but Sandbox provides an opportunity to see many of the unique systems available!

Environmental Events - At any time during the player’s expiration, they can receive an emergency alert on their ship console warning of an impending danger that is enroute to their location.

Goopers - My new favorite creations, little green physics guys that stick to just about everything they touch.

Store Shop - The ship terminal now has a shop that allows you to purchase items and get them shipped to your location.

Ship Console & TV - Added a ship console that notifies players of situational changes, gives them tips, and picks up a TV signal with an extremely spotty connection.

Ship Jumpdrive Sequence - Created a charge up sequence for the jumpdrive with SFX, VFX, and a cost to overcharging.

Ceiling Fan, Lamp Physics Objects - Created a ceiling fan whose light is powered by how fast the blades spin, also a physics lamp that allows for more ambient lighting.

Monsters Can Kill You - Monsters are now capable of killing the player and other survivors, each with their own unique kill sequences/animations.

Bug Fixing - Fixing a variety of bugs prior to the demo release.

Sound Design - Integrated a variety of different SFX throughout the project

While this project was for my college capstone, I’ve decided to continue with this project for the time being, or at the very least use it as a staging ground for developing new systems on future projects!
